i view my credit as my money. actual money is more something of a fairytale. damned education and broadway habit.

I had been in a good place with starting to pay down my credit cards - but then I decided to do this show and THAT all went out the window...darnit...
well, babe, as I've said before - from your lips to God's ears, sweetie dahling.
Exactly, Rath. Please not that the phrase "money can't buy you happiness" has NEVER been uttered by someone who is poor. Ever.
I have a quote that, as far as I know, I made up. I'll tell people "You can't always depend on money to bring you happiness, but you CAN usually depend on poverty to bring you the opposite."

Actually I know people who are dirt poor in Haiti who are a lot happier than a lot of the people I know. I don't quite understand it, but it seems to be true. I think it is that they have a much larger sense of the importance of friends and family since they don't have the money to take up their attention. I think though that whether you are rich or poor money can be all you care about and that doesn't lead to a happy life.
i was speaking more in a cultural context. if we're talking worldwide, then there are plenty of ways people are happy without money. but this is America, where we don't do real self-actualization. i'm sure it's possible, but we're far too busy coveting our neighbors' items.

Ahhh ok I see where you are coming from Matt. Sorry I am just on my soapbox with my whole wanting to do more to help the poor and everything. Don't let me stop you from your right to gripe about money.
Money isn't everything, it isn't even the only thing. But sometimes it is just nice to have a little extra around!
Dr Wayne Dyer: Money isn't in our lives because we have "scarcity conciousness."
Borstalboy: F*%k you, Dyer!
I mean...I'm perfectly happy. I have a wonderful boyfriend, a great family, terrific friends and a good job. Plus, my health (both mental and physical).
The only blessing left is money. Please. Someone. Give it to me. It would make me DELIRIOUSLY happy.
Stand in line Robbie.....unless you want to open a little stand on the street corner with me in Hells Kitchen....
