Posted: 10/26/04 at 2:10pmActually I know people who are dirt poor in Haiti who are a lot happier than a lot of the people I know. I don't quite understand it, but it seems to be true. I think it is that they have a much larger sense of the importance of friends and family since they don't have the money to take up their attention. I think though that whether you are rich or poor money can be all you care about and that doesn't lead to a happy life.

Posted: 10/26/04 at 2:27pmi was speaking more in a cultural context. if we're talking worldwide, then there are plenty of ways people are happy without money. but this is America, where we don't do real self-actualization. i'm sure it's possible, but we're far too busy coveting our neighbors' items.

Ahhh ok I see where you are coming from Matt. Sorry I am just on my soapbox with my whole wanting to do more to help the poor and everything. Don't let me stop you from your right to gripe about money.

I mean...I'm perfectly happy. I have a wonderful boyfriend, a great family, terrific friends and a good job. Plus, my health (both mental and physical).
The only blessing left is money. Please. Someone. Give it to me. It would make me DELIRIOUSLY happy.
