I will always regret the day I waited for Adam Pascal after Cabaret ! There were only 3 of us at the stage door, he was FANTASTIC and very sweet, we chatted, he hugged me, he signed my program and it was the ONLY day I DIDN'T HAVE MY CAMERA WITH ME !!!! I will bang my head for this, till the day that i die.
So, what is your most regretful experience ?

I waited at the stage door at Ravinia after Sunday in the Park with George last year. I waited for about 30 mins and then my parents said they were closing the gates, so we had to leave. We left, but there was still a big group waiting. The next day, I found out that a few minutes after I left, Michael and Audra came out.
On my second trip to nyc my mom and I crossed Shubert Alley and Gypsy just let out. So there was a big crowd outside and my mom wanted to wait for Bernadette out of curiosity but I didn't. I regret it because I could've gotten a picture with a living legend!

awww, Adam hugs!
I.... can't think of one; I've done too many stupid things and they've all blurred together.

ummm... not waiting for Hugh after a performance of Phantom. Not my fault, but I waited forever to see Adam after Aida. He didn't come out. I was crushed.

Posted: 10/15/05 at 9:52pmOther than the fact that I get shy and don't talk very well, the only thing I regret at the stagedoor was losing my camera the day I saw Little Women.

I am speaking for my mother on this one:
she saw Jesus Christ Superstar with TED NEELEY and she didn't feel like waiting at the stagedoor, so she didn't. She regretss never getting his autograph and stuff because he was soooo good. She still never waits at the stagedoor though, and won't let me either. Makes me mad!

I thought this was going to be something about - who you wished you never waited for because they were a**holes, or something...

^Glass half empty, eh?
Sharpies are my life, so I always have one in my bag. Mental memories are better than pictures. Dorky conversations rule all. Though getting a picture with Idina is still on my to do list. :/

Chitty.
It was me and one other family. Because of all the makeup and what not, I didn't recognize many people, so I didn't ask anyone except for one little kid to sign. A bunch of people walked by me scoffing probably for not knowing who they were or something... I felt bad.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 3:23amThe time I saw Cabaret with Raul Esparza. I was already a fan of his, too! LONG story, but I didn't stage door the show that night. I've kicked myself probably a billion times on that one.

Svell, I have to say I felt pretty bad stage dooring after Guys and Dolls because so many people came out that I just didn't recognize..the thing I wanted to meet them all because they were ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL so good. Only these two guys who I know for a fact were working as ushers because I saw them came out and yelled "TAKE PICTURES OF US!! WE'RE STAAAARS" To shut them up I took a picture and deleted it but...yeah. In the end I met everyone but Ewan and Jane. But I was trying to contain my spazzes with Daniel Hodge and Jenna Russell. So maybe not my most regretful.. I actually met Ewan somewhere else but I was like "NOOOO JAAAANE!!"
...yeah that's my worst seeing as how I never get out.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 10:56amI was a bit new to the stage door experience, but since I thought Hugh Jackman was hot enough to wait in the rain for (yeah, I know...) I stage doored Boy from Oz. The women were vicious. I was kinda in the middle of the throng and when he came out, it was pure chaos. I tried to get close enough to have him sign something, but I couldn't. This woman elbowed me in the THROAT. Hard. I was about to just walk away, but some guy waiting kinda grabbed my arm and pulled me up to the front (in a gentle way) and Hugh was really nice and made some joke about feeling like a rock star. Still, I had a big red spotch on my throat for days.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 10:58amouch! I almost accidentally nailed someone in the head with my Aida book. I wasn't tall enough and I almost smacked the person clear in the head! oops.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 10:59amNot quite the stage door, but very near it; I was sorry I didn't have a camera when I chatted-up Ben Vereen and Liza what-her-face near the Gershwin.

OUUUUUUUCH. That's so violent.
I love how at stage doors, all the people waiting will be you know..spaced out...friendly..and ONCE someone comes out it's just they form into a MASS a vicious one sometimes.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 11:01amI love stepping off to the side and watching people lunge. I feel terrible for the actor, but it's a really great people-watching experience.
#21re: Most regretful Stage door experience !!
Posted: 10/16/05 at 11:02amThat it is! When I get my autograph from Jenna Russell..I just moved to the side and observed.....heeeh it was funny. She was so sweet though so it was okay.

Posted: 10/16/05 at 11:05amGina Gershon after Cabaret and when I didn't have batteries in my camera the last time I stage doored Chitty.
#23re: Most regretful Stage door experience !!
Posted: 10/16/05 at 11:05amI only lunge for one man (and Kook can back that up). And it's always unnecessary lunging. There were about seven people there and he was signing something next to me and I had the most ridiculous feeling that he just wouldn't see me standing a whopping 4 feet away with a camera and an idiot look. Still...

Posted: 10/16/05 at 11:06amThe week before BFO closed, I took a walk down the block where the stage door was just to watch. My friend and I stood across the street from where Hugh's car was just to get a look at how it all went down. INSANE.

You know what though? It's not even the stage door that the madness takes place in. At Guys and Dolls, during intermission, there was an announcement that said "Please refrain from touching the actors performing on stage". ITS INSAAANE.
