Posted: 5/12/07 at 11:33pmLast summer, (at least) 2 movies were filmed here in Queens. One was "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," with Albert Finney and Ethan Hawke. The second, filmed all around the city, was about firefighters post-9/11. I can't remember the title or who was in it. Can anyone help jog my memory?

Posted: 5/12/07 at 11:42pmNo, but there was a film crew in Times Square today filming something and holding up traffic...

Posted: 5/12/07 at 11:48pmWhen I was in Manhattan over Veteran's Day weekend, they were filming a scene of THE TOURIST at the subway stop near Times Square. My friend tried to get a picture of Ewan McGregor, to no avail.

Really? No kidding. That's close to me.
It's not that one. It was a fireman movie with a really famous actor. But I forget who. Damn.

Yeah, I know the film you're talking about, but I can't for the life of me remember the name. It's not WORLD TRADE CENTER with Nicolas Cage?
The Douglaston Rail Road Station was used for the train station in LITTLE CHILDREN, and there were a few street scenes shot there as well. I haven't lived there since I moved out over twenty years ago, but it really hasn't changed all that much. Lovely but boring little town.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 12:07amNo. It was a "post-9/11" movie, I think. I know it was about firefighters, and that they also filmed around the Brooklyn Promenade.

Actually, Yankeefan, according to the IMDB, PRIDE AND GLORY is about a NYC police family torn apart by a corruption scandal.

Posted: 5/13/07 at 11:03amThe film crew in Times Square this weekend was working on a new Eddie Murphy movie "Starship Dave", because sci-fi comedy worked so well for Eddie in the past, "Pluto Nash" anyone?

I love when New Yorkers are all excited about their neighborhoods being shown in a film! Hellooooo!
I grew up in a town where about five seconds of "Mermaids" was filmed, and they STILL talk about it.
