Hello all!!

I am in desperate need of a topic for my "Musical Theater and Pop Culture" final paper. I have been trying to come up with one, but failing miserably. If anyone has any sort of ideas they would be greatly appreciated. My paper can be on any topic pertaining to musical theater in any way. Thanks!!!

i did a research paper on the decline of originality in american musical theatre throughout the years... focused a lot on the disney empire, and how theatre has become based more and more on works that people already know of.. sure, most shows are based on SOMETHING..but it used to be lesser known things, whereas now a lot of shows are based on VERY popular movies and bands that are almost guaranteed success

but anyway, yeah haha.. i mean you don't have to do that excatly cause that was basically my argument..but if you're interested, just try to put your own spin on it. good luck!

Why are Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia such big hits while other jukebox musicals are such dismal artistic and commercial failures?

What do they have, content and structure-wise, that All Shook Up, The Look of Love, the Beach Boys one and The Times They Are A Changin' lack?

Is part of Mamma Mia's success because it was the first and the others imitated it?

I'm writing my senior project paper on post 9/11 musical theatre. You could talk about how today's musicals are reflecting our post 9/11 world.
