Has anyone else heard their new cd? I LOVE it. Is is a mix of Queen's "A Night at the Opera" with Pink Floyd's "The Wall." Very rock theatrical! I highly reccomend it. Plus, for all of you theatre kings and queens out there . . . Liza Minnelli is a guest singer in one of the songs.
You can hear all the songs on their website, I believe... I have heard nothing but good things about this CD, and I love all the music that I've heard from it so far. I was already planning on getting it, because I'm a huge MCR fan, but just hearing all the praise for it makes me want to get it that much more. Plus, Liza! The song she sings in is a really cool song, too.

Completely agreed. It is one of my favorites on the cd

"Mama"
I really like the song "Teenagers," too.
I don't think there is a bad song on the cd.
Agreed. This CD is a perfect representation of everything I love about this band, it's amazing.

I bought it because I liked the theatricality of their performance on Saturday Night Live last week. I have not been able to listen to the whole thing through because there's a certain same-iness to the songs and it wears me down until I can't listen to any more.
Hmm. I was actually thinking that what I like most is that it has so many *different* songs to offer... Every song on the album revolves around the same "character," though; it is meant to be a "story" of his life and death. Perhaps that's why the songs could all seem similar to some?

I get that that's the concept of the album, but there's a certain sped up guitar sound that sounds like almost every other screamo song I've ever heard, and often like the one just before it on the album.
I did like the Village Voice headline for the review of the album: "Blackened Meatloaf."
Eh. Well it's not for everyone, I suppose. Sorry if I seemed condescending in explaining the concept, I should have realized that anyone who has listened to it would probably already know that.
Eh, I still like it!

Not condescending at all. I haven't given up on the album, I hope more melody comes up out of the muck of the processed guitar cacaphony once I hear the whole thing through.
Me too!
I was shopping around for it on Amazon, and all the extras in the limited edition version are really tempting, but it also costs $30. I think I'll be just as happy paying the $10 for the regular version, thanks.
Namo--Have you listened to "Cancer" or "Mama" yet?

I haven't gotten past track 5. Maybe later.
"Cancer" is so haunting and sad.
I really love "Disenchanted."
That's cool!

I have to say I just bought it from iTunes on a whim and it's good. It's different than any cd I've ever bought, but I like it.
I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it Saturday. "Mama" is now officially my favorite song on the cd.
I was at a convention at Southern Connecticut State Univeristy on Friday for Journalism class and went to a movie/music review seminar. The man running the seminar, a music critic, said nothing but good things about this CD. After reading this thread and hearing his raving about it I'll have to sample some of the songs.
Go to www.barnesandnoble.com and you can sample all of the songs. I HIGHLY reccomend it.
Alright, so I've sampled every song and am set on buying this CD.
HUZZAH!
