Hey Everybody,
This year I am participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Greater Sussex on May 30th 2009.
As many of you know my mother, Donna, was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme on October 27th 2008. In layman's terms, a malignant brain tumor. She has undergone surgery, chemo and radiation thus far. For a woman whose only other major medical issue was a hernia and a c-section when I was born, it has been quite a blow for her. Seeing her go from a vibrant, hard working woman to an overgrown child, who had a hard time putting on her clothes and remembering how to get home from work has been one of the hardest things I have ever expierienced.
But harder then the day to day difficulties, is the knowledge that all the treatments and effort are buying time, not a cure. She deserves a cure. The people in the oncologists office's. praying for just one more clean scan, deserve a cure.
So many of you have been so kind and generous in your support of my family and now I hope to make a difference as well by raising money and awareness for the relay. Below is my personal page for donations and support. Th money is used to fund research, create support groups around the world, fund education projects, and work to keep cancer research a top priority in Washington DC.

I know it is cliche, but every little bit helps. Support does not have to come in monetary form either. If you have some extra time to help raise funds, create gifts or bake for the relay, please let me know. Of course, if you are around the area on May 30th, stop on by! On behalf of my family, teamates, and the people who are so desperate for a cure, I thank you.
Love and HOPE,
Katelyn
Right now I'm having trouble getting to the site, but I promise to try and help as soon as the link works. I've lost too many family members and friends to cancer and a brain tumor left my niece partially handicapped, so I know how important this is and I support it and you whole-heartedly.
You have my 100% support hamlet. The site is not loading (as mamie mentioned) but I'll definitely do what I can.

I'd be happy to help.
You have my empathy and support. Five and a half years ago, my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Fortunately, it was benign, but unfortunately, it was huge, about the size of a tennis ball. Her only option was a ten hour, invasive surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was successful in that the entire tumor was removed, and the pressure on her brain stem was relieved. However, she suffered every possible post-op complication, including bacterial meningitis and a heart attack, she required a followed surgery that was 'only' three hours, and she was left permanently disabled. She has significant balance issues, partial facial paralysis, and a paralyzed vocal cord. Coupled with overwhelming chronic fatigue, she also suffers with bouts of depression.
