My Younger brother just left for Afghanistan

This morning at 6:00, my only brother was deployed to Afghanistan. It is scary because you obviously have to be positive he will come back in one piece, but you also can't be delusional. He knows how I feel about him and the war. I tell him constantly that I don't support this war, but I support him and all the troops defending our country. He is only 20 years old and is part of the 82nd. Airborne in the Army.

This is a picture of him and his girlfriend.

So please keep him in your thoughts today, or whenever you hear a story on the news about the troops. For me, this war is now, quite literally "Closer to home"

Him and the 249,000 other people GWB decided to screw over...

Sorry to hear and I hope he's okay.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. My cousin is in Baghdad right now and I know it must be so SO hard for you to watch your own brother go over there. I know it scares me to death every time I hear about troops dying in Baghdad. This entire war just makes me so angry and depressed.

Hope he makes it out okay -- for your sake and his.

I can't see the picture, either.

I hope he, and all the others, get home safe, sound, and real soon!

Wishing you and your brother all the best at this time.

And, he did volunteer for the armed forces since 9-11, right?

Sending good thoughts your way. I hope your brother comes back safe. How long will he be there for?

I know several people about to be deployed with the Australian Forces...luckily our forces have had very few casualties, but it's scary regardless...

I pray for your brother's safe return...and the brothers, sons, husbands, friends, cousins etc of all those with friends/family in Iraq... Updated On: 1/14/07 at 02:35 AM

Yes, thoreau, of course he did. I'm not sure what, if anything, you are getting at.

Thanks to his courage and determination. It is with hope and joy that he should come home safe and sound, with a smile on his face that he is back to see you in the near future.
