And while we're talking about mysterious things, what is that "t" that appears on the left under a lot of messages? That's been going on for days.

I've seen the "t" but never the "s"; now I don't see either.

I only saw the "t"s earlier today on a friend's PC. I'm on my Mac and don't see 'em.

I use a PC and don't see them, so it can't just be a PC thing...
