An 84 year old man brings his blind wife to a dialysis clinic

He comes out a few minutes later & is being ticketed

Compassion from a meter maid . Not in this lifetime. They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for revenue when they do this type of crap.

So, they are just going after old people now?

No, they go after everyone in their insatiable lust for money to fund the behemoth known as NYC government

This was just the latest example of how far they are willing to go. Thank God, I do not own a car & use mass transit.

The man being 84 and his wife being blind can be seen as an excuse.

Most traffic cops don't see the owners of the car they are ticketing.

Thus, the defense from the driver of them being both old and blind are seen as an excuse to not pay the ticket.

It has nothing to do with them being old and blind at all.

If the cop had seen them then it would be a judgment call and whatever the cop wanted to do.

But, most lilkey the cop didn't see them. And they are using their helth situation as a way to get out of it.

"So, they are just going after old people now?"

It was a joke.

The two seniors, Dolly...

Never mind.

This is not unique to New York.

Go drive through a small town in the south that depends on these fines for a large portion of the town revenue.

Or Rhode Island.

Stick a fork in New York City, this above anything else is truly the bottom of the barrel. I thought it was bad enough when I heard of a woman getting a ticket for trying to wear sneakers in a restaurant that had a dress code expressly forbidding them.

And n69 is correct, Roxy does seem to be advocating a very liberal form of situational ethics. Stick a fork in Mr. Law & Order, I guess.
