Is this going to be like Noises Off?
"As the cast and crew prepare for the last live broadcast, secret love affairs, jealousies and feuds come to a boil, taxing the patience of a stage manager struggling to hold the show together."

This sounds really good. I love Robert Altman and I especially love A Prairie Home Companion! Hooray for Garrison Keillor!

I always thought the Lake Wobegon stories would make a great TV series, a la "Northern Exposure".
But it would probably get cancelled after one season if the ratings weren't spectacular.
I'm always wary of Robert Altman though. For every great movie he makes (Nashville, The Player, Short Cuts, Gosford Park), there's an unwatchable disaster (Kansas City, Pret A Porter) or something that is just fundamentally dull (The Company, Cookie's Fortune). So we'll see.

Bite your tongue!! Cookie's Fortune was great.
Sorry, but it bored me silly.
True, not all of Altman’s films are masterpieces, but what makes him a great filmmaker is his willingness to take chances and let his actors work their craft without stifling them with his own ego. It is true that for every NASHVILLE or THE PLAYER there is a KANSAS CITY or READY TO WEAR, and let’s not even mention the abysmal BEYOND THERAPY, but I would MUCH rather sit through one an Altman’s misses than another STAR WARS or COLOR PURPLE.
Meryl Streep & Lindsey Lohan in the same movie. Now THIS could prove fascinating.
Dr.T and the Women is the dullest of the dull.
