Not that they would have improved it anyway. The only way to improve this movie is to completely remake it. But since they did film "Simple" and "Only With You" it would have been nice to include it.
"Final specs have been announced for Sony's 4 May Blu-ray Disc release of Nine. This Rob Marshall-directed musical will arrive with a 1080p transfer, a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound mix, a commentary track, a set of featurettes (a few of which are BD-exclusive), and some music videos. SRP is $38.96."

Maybe they should just release a companion blu-ray, 'NINE: The Musical Numbers' for those of us who didn't care for the rest of the film.

Posted: 3/15/10 at 2:15pmThe behind-the-scenes stuff is fine, but it seems silly not to include the cut numbers. It's not like it would have cost them a sack of money to have them on the disc, and it would have encouraged sales and rentals for the curiosity factor ... at least marginally.

I would doubt it, really... I think they'll be lucky to sell a decent amount of the upcoming release. Two would be pushing their luck.

Studios aren't doing as many deluxe versions of anything anymore, unless it's a guaranteed seller (either a big catalogue title like The Wizard of Oz or a new blockbuster like Avatar). The DVD boom is over, and everything is shifting. All of the studios have slowed down their home entertainment production drastically. Many layoffs have happened industrywide. They aren't producing those exhaustive 2- and 3-disc releases anymore either. Even successful movies now have one or two special features on them (like one game, if it's a kids' movie, and one "making of" that can be chopped up into mini featurettes for the DVD and also work as picture-in-picture on the BD).
While I would agree with you ... 2 or 3 years ago ... I would tell you that it's doubtful now. Unless this DVD of NINE (and its Blu-ray Disc) sell really well. Then a second release with additional bonus material could happen.
But we all know the likelihood of that.
