From time to time I see unusual occurences at my gym (i.e., guy doing pelvic thrusts and shimmies in the mirror), but today's was the icing on the cake. I was doing cardio during my lunch break and the man next to me had a bag of dorito chips in one hand and a diet coke in the other. My reaction was, why even bother.

Anybody experience strange things at their gym?

I THOUGHT that was you, Robbie!

I couldn't see what was going on in the steam and then all of a sudden I heard "I'LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL drink to THAT!"

The guy next to me said, "Is that Elaine Stritch on her knees over there?" And I said, "No, silly--it's ROBBIEJ!"

NYSC is notorious for their steamroom antics...but I go to Crunch.

I've never seen someone with chips and soda (that's pretty white trash IMO) but I see guys working out in tight jeans all the time. I don't get it. It's not cool anymore to look like Joanie Loves Chachi.

I came to this thread with heightened expectations, only to be let down... but it was swiftly recovered with a fine Stritch joke, and you know how I love them.

sometimes it's fun watching the cardio classes and seeing the straight guys trying not to move well, and the gay guys trying to move less well to butch it up

When I was a smoker, I always wanted to be on the eliptical with an unlit ciggy hanging from my lips.

Although NYSC has some very hoppin' steam rooms (used to belong), nothing...and I mean NOTHING...compared to the Crunch on 42nd and 11th. My GOD were those some good times!!!

Again... there's performance art there. I see a series of monologues delivered from unlikely athletes...

robbiej on the ellptical with a fag or two hanging out of his mouth...

someone on a stairmaster trying to consume a whole cheesecake...

someone on a treadmill with a bottle of cheap tequila...

surely the "fag or two" would be hanging somewhere else on RobbieJ...you set me up for that one *insert Cheri O'Teri inflection*.

I gently set the balls up in the air... it's up to the rest of the team to spike them...

But I like to keep at least two of them in action as much as possible. *set*

CKEATON, that sort of activity in a comedy duo would make you the straight man, which somehow seems impossible (no offense).

All I will say, Cheno, is that it is truly worth a visit...however, I have not been there in quite a long time (probably January of May/June of '03), so it may have changed. But BOY was it fun!

i can say that the former David Barton location (on Sixth) could be...provocative. Haven't been to the new one.

NYSC on 41st bet. Broadway and 8th.

Lots of fun there too.

But the boys were 10 times cuter at Crunch on 42nd. There was one guy...WHEW!

WINDY CITY, i had a favorite professor once whose "guest powder room" was located near his front door. He was retired there one afternoon, dropping off some friends at the lake, when he heard a knock on his front door. He looked out the small window and saw that it was indeed the JW mission team. He opened the window slightly and yelled: "I'm atheist, I'm gay, and I'm taking a sh*t right now. You might as well move on!"

Of course, i always invited the cute mission teams in and flirt with them. It only paid off once, but it was worth the investment.
