maybe that title will get someone's attention...

alright i am currently a freshman in college, and i need some help. i have some ideas of what i want to do as a career but i have NO IDEA as to what i should major in. I would like to be involved in some kind of backstage broadwayness. a producer, a casting agent, an agent, or maybe a press agent. im guessing either a business or communications major? cause you can't so much major in producing. Communications or Theatre Production (crew, design, management, etc.)

If your school does not offer a Backstage Broadwayness major you should seriously consider transferring. Or designing your own curriculum of Backstage Broadwayness. Ask your advisor pretty please.

a GUIDANCE COUNSELOR should point you in the right direction.

whereas a guidance counselor would know what classes the school offers, i know mine does not know which classes to take or what would be needed to have a career in the field i am interested in.

Corster - I hope the advice I gave you earlier helps...I think you will be wonderful at whatever you decide to do in life.

Fellow BWW posters - anybody in the big city know someone that Corfriends might be able to talk to about getting involved in the biz as a producer or casting agent? It may not help him pick a major but it might be nice to know what the road ahead of him looks like...
