Obama just decreed that the US taxpayer will guarantee car warranties.
"if you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you
will be able to get your car serviced and repaired, just like
always. Your warrantee will be safe.
In fact, it will be safer than it's ever been. Because
starting today, the United States government will stand behind
your warrantee."

Thanks for the link. It was nice to read the entire speech in context rather than just your rant.
"I am announcing
that my administration will offer GM and Chrysler a limited
period of time to work with creditors, unions, and other
stakeholders to fundamentally restructure in a way that would
justify an investment of additional tax dollars; a period
during which they must produce plans that would give the
American people confidence in their long-term prospects for
success."
Sounds good to me.

I'm glad Rob pays you to follow me around and make snide comments. It makes me feel so special.
Yeah, I thought it was sort of weird that it was the only part of the speech that was addressed. Nor do I think it is anything to be upset about. If the US government doesn't assist the auto industry, GM and Chrysler would probably die, but I don't expect the government to simply give them money and let them continue running themselves in the ground. That's not aid, that's enabling.
Rob does nothing of the sort.
And how is my comment 'snide'. I'm simply saying that I think Obama SHOULD call the car sompanies to task.
It's not ALL about YOU.

TheatreDiva, that comment wasn't directed at you.
I think he was referring to Craig, Diva.
He doesn't pay me to do it. And if you or anyone is going to post their opinions, they are open for commentary by anyone. You're not special.
And if that came off as snide - than that's your interpretation. I was sincere. Sincerely. I appreciated you giving the link so I could read a) what you were referencing and b) learn more about the situation other than your rant.
Well, then, I guess it's not all about me, then, IS IT?!

Of course I agree with that. Except when four other BWW posters PM me and ask why Craig follows me around and singles me out, I'd like to know what response to give them. It's not random, there is a definite pattern of you stalking me.

Stalking you?
Oh please.
Could it be I'm interested in Politics? I post in a lot of threads, Gothampc. You, and your 4 friends are flattering yourselves with conspiracy theories
This is all VERY Melrose Place.

You can say that again. You can say that again.
They asked for a bailout. These are the conditions that are required. You can't have it both ways.

Why should my taxpayer dollars go to bailout someone's car warranty?
I guess we can add 'nationalize' to the list of words that people are throwing around without knowing their meaning, such as 'socialism' and 'fascism'.
Why should my taxpayer dollars go to a war I don't support?

You do see the difference between national security and fixing someone's carburetor don't you?
No.
Why should my tax dollars go to schools when I don't have any kids?
Why? Because I care enough about this country and can see a bigger picture that a better educated country benefits everyone.
