According to Roscoe and Papa, Obama isn't actually religious at all, so any spiritual mentoring done by Wright or anyone else would be irrelevant.

As for Wright, shouldn't his 15 minutes have been up ages ago? Even the wingnuts at FoxNews seem to have given up on trying to get any more mileage out of him.

uuuummm...wouldn't it be FORMER spiritual mentor? I mean, even the headline that you yourself linked to says "Rev. Wright says he doesn't regret SEVERED relationship with president"

he goes on to say "he had not spoken to his former church member since Obama became president"

which has been over 5 months now.

PLEASE don't bog Goth down with your petty details. His political graven idol Ronald Reagan said something that has obviously been Goth's motto since he's been an internet poster: "Facts are stupid things."

Madbrian, I never said Obama isn't actually religious. His open bigotry towards gays certainly indicates his allegiance with religious fanatics.

rev. white helps prove my point: he needed him when he was starting out to give him some "black" credence, but when he no lomger needed him? gone. if he thought tomorrow that the atheist vote was the key to re-election he would suddenly discover that he had spent many years as an atheist and still shares much with that noble belief system. if he thought that he needed to build his ties with schnauzers he would deliver an entire speech by barking.

I do not believe that all politicians are the same but I do believe that all politicians are politicians. And I think it's pathetic that the fake religious front is such an important and mandatory tool to getting elected in this country. It's just insane. And we can thank Nixon for bringing in Billy Graham and making the world safe for the twice-born Jimmy Carter and the susbsequent parade of lip-service-to-the-Lord dudes who have been president ever since.

For some reason, Americans DEMAND a daily bible meeting-attending George W. Bush and are perfectly willing to overlook that he was unable to quote a Bible reading he had attended that very morning.
