What do you all think?
Personally I'm dissapointed and I called his campaign and said so.

Seems to me he's saying that the churches have failed to acknowledge and "cure" the "curse" of homosexuality.

Even better. Obama offers a tool at his website that you can use to send an e-mail to everyone in your lesbian-and-gay address book.
Just modify his message and tell them about Obama pandering to the bigots by campaigning with ex-gays.

Obama is scrambling. He's losing the black vote and he's terrified to alienate them. For a guy who previously seemed so brave to stand firm on issues that would usually polarize black voters (all voters) such as abortion and gay rights, this new waffling is disconcerting. Now is not the time to change your image Barack!
I think he's trying to send the message that while he might not agree with you, he's respecting your right to homophobia. Also McClurkin is popular, isn't he? Still, I think this is one situation where you can't have your cake and eat it too. I know McClurkin is only one of many people on the tour but man, Obama... even if you lose it now, don't kill it for yourself later. I don't know if I want to call this betrayal or not but it's close!
I hope Bill Maher gets to this on his show.

I agree, PJ...this is obvious pandering, to both the LGBT community and the Jesus freaks.
The fact is that Obama can choose associate himself with anyone right now -- it's his campaign. Including this "ex-gay" man in his campaign sends a very uncomfortable message of endorsement.
Obama, you're off the list.
