As a sports fan I have to say that considering that this happened in the WNBA is not something that I find shocking. There's a stereotype with woman's sports that the woman who play are all butch lesbians. Not saying that this is true all around, but there are a good number of woman who do play in the WNBA who are open about being homosexual. I'm not sure as to why it is that that fact doesn't get much of a reaction. It could be that the truth is that the WNBA, although a professional sports league, is a minor one. Or it could be the stereotype that is put in place with woman's sports is one that makes the truth less shocking, I am not sure either way. Keep in mind that while there is the false notion that many female athletes are lesbian and that's not shocking, the opposite is true for male athletes. Men who play sports are "supposed" to be very manly, and straight and macho etc.

Eastern European women kiss all the time in sports. Tennis. Gymnastics. Ice dancing. Have so for years and no one blinks an eye.

Thankfully, Its accepted and smiled at.

no one there makes a big deal about it unlike here in North America..
