Yesterday a friend emailed me with a sad tale. He is feeling down and at his wits end. I was afraid he might do something drastic. You see, his sister, who is dirt poor, lives in a trailer and dances at a seedy strip club to make money, just informed him that is pregnant with her sixth child. My friend's brother is even worse, he's a crack addict. On top of all this, my friend lost his job due to outsourcing overseas and just learned that his son has dropped out of college to join a religious cult.

I wanted to send him some words of encouragement. Knowing that he reads this board, I decided to post it here in the hope that my words to him, can also inspire those others who may be feeling like the light at the end of the tunnel has been extinguished. So, here is my letter to him.

Dear friend,

Please remember that to everything there is a season. the powers of the universe know your needs and are ready to guide you to your true happiness. However, in order to walk the path to true happiness, you must first clear the way. banish from you pathway all negativity which creates a roadblock to true spiritual happiness. illuminate your way with the light of positive visualization. See your success and walk toward it, allowing not once thought of negativity to cross your path.

Journey into the deepest regions of your soul and find the place where your creativity is imprisoned awaiting it's release. Release it into the universe and positive energy will be attracted to it and will surround you always.

Remember that you can reach into darkness and come out with treasure. try to dance with what life hands you. At times your partner will be pleasure and at times it will be pain. No matter what the partner, realize that for that moment it is the right one for the dance.

In the end, it's not what's in the mirror but what's left inside. that is what you must ultimately face and live with. make sure that what is left inside is a soul at peace. may the angels hold and keep you all the days of your life.

Would it be tacky to add "But if worst comes to worst, Joe would LOVE it if you left him those boots of yours he likes so much in your will."

Marquise, exactly what I was thinking.

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

Of course I have the address, but I figured everyone could benefit from the collective wisdom of the Dali Lama, Anthony Robbins and Stevie Nicks.

No.

Frankly, I'm laughing my ass of seeing that you put the Dali Lama along side Stevie Nicks and then threw in Anthony Robbins.

Well at least it wasn't Stevie Wonder, Salvador Dali and Tim Robbins...

and for god's sake use birth control! Six kids and she's poor?

He sounds like he gave up smoking but he kept the cough! K&E

It's time to Shine It On.

Edit: Also, maybe he should buy himself a nice blouse. Suzanne Sugarbaker says it's hard for her to get angry at the injustices of the world if she looks really good.
