If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

OK now that was really dumb.

Well, they were also mad about the road kill gummy worms.

Yeah, PETA needs to understand the concept of 'pick your battles' a little more clearly.

"PETA also offered to donate 15-thousand dollars worth of a soy-based, faux-fish product for school students in the town if the name is changed."

Reason enough to keep the name.

PEACE.

Doesn't pulling the soybean off the plant hurt the bean and the plant? I mean you are basically ripping the bean from its life support.

Perhaps they could change the name to "PETA OVER-KILL."

PEACE.

Get a clue. PETA doesn't actually care about the town's name. They can send out a press release with some ridiculous demand like this, the AP will run with it, and now millions of people

a. are exposed to their message and

b. now know that their fishing website is fishinghurts.com.

I can guarantee that hits on that website will skyrocket in the days after this story.

If they were to buy advertising space to reach the same number of people it would cost millions, probably hundreds of millions worldwide.

It's a brilliant strategy and PETA works it better than anyone else.

So PETA promotes the use of unfermented soy, which cause brain and breast cancer and blood clots. Good for them!

As I've said before, I support PETA in many aspects, and I've taken part in some PETA protests, but seriously, they need to pick and choose their battles. I don't understand why the word "Fishkill" has to do with PETA...it's not like fish are being killed left and right in their town to wallpaper the town hall or anything.

And although I am a PETA member, I don't understand why they insist on doing things like this. All it does it make people roll their eyes and cringe whenever they see PETA's name attached to something - and that's too bad because, for the most part, they're an excellent organization. But, because of stupid things like this, they have quickly become to group that people love to hate, and will jump at any opportunity to bash them and their supporters.

If animals can be used for humane experimentation that might lead to a cure for cancer & other diseases why not ? If somoene wants to eat meat, Peta should not go over the top. If you feel that animals are special ( I do but get a grip they are not human) & you will not eat meat that is your affair. Do not force your ideas on others against their will. Animal experimentation for cosmetics should be banned.
