...other than Roe V Wade. The Huffington Post is reporting that in an unaired (so far) segment of the Katie Couric interview Palin is unable to name any important Supreme Court cases other than Roe V. Wade.
What was her major in College again?

Posted: 9/30/08 at 9:35amI am not defending her--but these are the types of questions that Joe Biden would never be asked in an interview (perhaps a debate, but not a Katie Couric interview). Joe Biden (or most politicians for that matter), probably can't name more than a small handful either off the top of his head. I just feel like this school master approach to questioning by both Charles Gibson and Katie Couric is a bit much, although it does get the point across that she knows very little.

There is a difference. Joe Biden has an established record. We know nothing about Sarah Palin. There is no record to look back on. So the only way to find out her views on the Supreme Court...and how she might pick a Supreme Court justice is to ask her these types of questions.
This woman might be POTUS. She should have a BASIC understanding of political history. Not to be able to name ONE other important Supreme Court case? That is not a hard question.

Wrong, landry.
If you know ANYTHING about Joe Biden, you'd know that he would be able to rattle off an endless list of Supreme Court cases, what the votes were, who wrote the majority and dissenting opinions and how those decisions affected our lives.
Politicians like Biden (and Gore, for instance) are policy wonks at heart. You may not like them, but don't assume they're as just-plain-folks like Sarah Palin.

landry--the one thing that keeps me coming back to this board is that these people on here know two things inside-out: (1) theatre and (2) politics.
Biden can tell you which tree gave birth to the original document and which goose gave up the quill used to sign it.

at which of the 6 colleges did she in Poly Sci?
The woman is scary, cannot answer questions coherently, so she throws all kind of trash into her answers.....I'm surprised she can even govern Alaska

Gosh let see...Brown Vs Board of education (Integration), Bush V Gore (Florida vote counting, sates rights, 2000 election), Miranda vs Arizona (Rights of arrested), Marbury Vs. Madison, Dred Scot (Slavery... and I am not even a Poli sci major.
This is what the president does...it's not "unfair" to quiz a candidate about how they feel about various decisions.

If she was a journalism major, she should know New York Times v. Sullivan (which she would probably love to see overturned!).
But, of course, she probably thinks the Pentagon Papers are part of a series of geometry flashcards.
