Any good? I've had "Philly cheesesteaks" here. Not even close.
We need a place to get great ones in Times Square
Mmmm... love them!!
There's another Philly Slim's on 9th Ave. around 52 St.
Don't eat at Geno's! That's the guy who purposely raised a big stink by erecting a big "You must order in English" sign. Using xenophobia to draw business. Classy.
BEEF???????????????????????
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIGH
I can still eat like a horse ( & not gain a pound ) with 8 inches of the colon gone
Positively amazing. I am hoping to get over to the city for the first time since my surgery on Labor Day weekend so i will check it out - Philly Sims that is
99 Miles From Philly in the East Village seems decent -- and they have chicken and vegetarian options for Harris.
see now, i would purposely go to geno's because of the sign.
It got pretty rough around there late at night.
Once I saw some guy push a girl onto the ground because she got in his way. And there almost always was some sort of fight breaking out. But I was usually too drunk to care and would be getting into all kinds of in-depth conversations with the homeless people.
do you know of the place off the boulevard? i cannot think of the name...
lol working the boulevard were ya?

I'm with LionessinWinter - Jim's!
While we're on the subject, let's clear up some misconceptions:
First, a real Philly Cheesestak is made with Cheese Whiz. Grilled onions are basic. Mushrooms and/or peppers are optional.
It does NOT have lettuce, tomato, or mayonaisse.
Finally, "Cheese Whiz" is NOT the stuff that comes in an aeresol can. That's "E-Z Cheez". Cheese Whiz comes in a jar.
Jon is correct-the proper sandwich to have is the one with Whiz and onions. $6.50.
Whiz wit'
But never, never Whiz con at Geno's.
99 Miles From Philly is the same price for the traditional cheesesteak. So sad that I can't eat them anymore.
