Have you ever read the books? Are they as good as the tv series? And do they give anything away about season two? I heard they are pretty different from the show but a fun beach-read! If serial killing can be called fun... Just wanted to know if anyone has an opinion of them before I buy them.
they differ quite a bit from the tv series, but have some similar elements.
darkly dreaming dexter was fun, but i enjoyed season one a lot more.
dearly devoted dexter was great. much more entertaining than the first book and rivals season two, but is quite different. i don't think there are any huge give aways in the book. the two are that different.
i've heard a lot of horror stories about dexter in the dark but am not willing to shell out the $26 bucks to find out. i'll wait for the paperback.
I just finished watching both seasons (on demand) and can't wait for season three. I love the cast and the characters. Although I have expressed my dislike for overused voice overs, this show uses them to better effect than just telling us what we should be feeling because the writers does not trust the audience.
I have not read the books, though.
I haven't read the books but am a big fan of the show. That theme song is too catchy.
I'm a Dexter (Showtime series) fanatic!
To me, it's the best cable/TV series to air since 'La Femme Nikita'.
Haven't read any of the books but just might in the near term.
OK! I picked up the first two books, (thanks to papalovesmambo). So far the first one is exactly like the series. But every time they describe Deb as curvy, blonde, and blue eyed, I just adjust the image in my mind to look the tv Deb! Too bad I know who the ice truck killer is already!
What happens to Doakes at the end of the second season is much different than what happens to him at the end of the second book.
OK, I just finished Dexter In The Dark.. And it was awful. I HATED the Cody and Astor storyline. Wait for the paperback if you want to read this one. It blows.
