Figured we'd need a thread......
Why is this not on until 11? I'll never stay awake!

I don't get this show. It's upstate NJ so, essentially, it's New York. And one of the gals on the show was on Platinum Weddings.
If you want to to NJ why not take some women from the Princeton area? There's serious money and, most of it, is old money.

Misschung, the reunion is on from 9-10 and it's only part 1! I guess they'll show part 2 next week. Yeah, there is no way I'll be awake for the NJ housewives. Already have the dvr set up!
Eris, the Princeton old-money types would never be as entertaining as these ladies. I think it's going to be hysterical!

I don't have any money and am not married but I live in NJ. How about a TV show about me? I'm entertaining. lol
Does anyone else watch Platinum Weddings on WE?

I've seen it a few times Eris....
My BFF from elementary school lives in Princeton, but both she and her husband are teachers so I doubt they'd qualify.

In one of episodes of Platinum Weddings the wedding was being held at this huge banquet hall owned by the groom. He kept inviting people up to the day of the wedding and the price tag was in the millions. Well the bride is one of the wives on this show. Forget her name though.
Can I be the quirky single one on your show? lol

I'm probably going to tune in. I didn't realize I used to live really close to Franklin Lakes. I just checked on google map.
And in my opinion, the only area that should count as upstate New Jersey is Sussex County, where I live. It's the northern most county here. However, it's hick central USA, so it would be more disgusting than entertaining, I'm afraid. Thank goodness I'm not a native to the area, and I know better.

I used to live in the town next to Franklin Lakes....WORLDS apart.
Then again, most of the NYC housewives live within a mile or two of me now, and their existence is worlds apart from mine, too.

I used to live in the area, too. Franklin Lakes was the designated rich town in a pretty wealthy county. (Though Alpine and Ridgewood are probably up there as well.) But I didn't know that, um...those types of rich folks lived there. The people I knew from there were a girl who loved biology and the kid of an ex-NBA player.
Anyway, what I wanted to say is - Bergen County may be close to NYC, but don't mistake it for an extension of the city. You wouldn't believe how many of the locals barely visit New York, if at all. Suburbia is its own little world. Which I left. *cackle*

Posted: 5/13/09 at 6:34amDanmag- count me in as a BWW housewife! Also, they have to feature the nouveau riche of New Jersey. Nouveau riche are so much more funny than old money. Anyone I have met who has old money would never brag like the nouveau do- they don't have as much to prove.

Posted: 5/13/09 at 7:46amI've never watched an episode of any Housewife show until last night. I wasn't 10 minutes in, and I wanted to bitchslap most of them already. I don't know if I'll make it through the whole thing.

These women were annoying, but at least it was more entertaining than the show on E! about the Jersey Shore. Those girls were just dumb and not funny at all.
I'm not a housewife, but I should be the next contestant for the Bachelorette. LOL!

Marianne if you'd like to make a few guest appearances on RHWoBWW, maybe it'll be enough exposure for the Bachelorette to take notice!
bdwaygirl, I agree with danmag. It grows on you....

Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:45amThe are always kind of trashy and obnoxious, but I think THIS group will be WAY over the top!! The Atlanta women were pretty crazy too!! They show so many reruns on Bravo, you can always pop in and check out some old seasons.

None of these women can compare to Kelly Bishop as Emily Gilmore on The Gilmore Girls, and until they can, I'm not watching.
By the way, on yesterday's rerun on ABC Family, Emily learned the truth about how the Huntsbergers treated Rory, and confronted Shira at the DAR gala. Perhaps the best scene ever filmed in network television.
