SUESSICAL THE MUSICAL

A local theatre group that I am involved in just announced our next show will be "Suessical". I have never seen or heard of it and (after looking online at a little summary) am still aprehensive about doing the show. HOW IS IT? Any reviews from people who have seen or been in the show? Good music? Good story? Overall a good production to be involved in? (Not that any show wouldn't be good to be involved in! Even the worst show alive could still be made fun somehow, right!)

My college did this show last year, and I really enjoyed watching it. I think it definitely helped that it was so professionally produced, and that all of the actors were extremely talented. However, my parents have seen a few youth productions of it and enjoyed them as well, so I think it has potential to be entertaining. Why not see if you can get a hold of the cast recording and give it a listen? If you like the music, you'll probably enjoy the show.

I was just in this show last Summer. I had a ton of fun with it. Lots of great energetic numbers.

Good idea... maybe I will try buying the CD off amazon or sumthing to see what it sounds like... my B-day is coming up so it could be a good excuse to get the CD! (and hope its worth it)

And to MyFairLady... could you maybe go in a little more detail? What didn't you like about it?

I'm in this show right now, I say go for it. It's a really good show, Dr. Seuss can make for great theater!

It's actually a good, if not aMAHzing, show with an enjoyable score, though the second act is really a muddled mess. All the characters speak in verse, so it can be a bit hard to get any real ACTING out of it, but a couple roles (The Cat, Mayzie, ect.) can prove to be great showcases for an actor/actress with fantastic comic timing. The score is really the highlight of the entire thing, rather varied and a lot of fun.

Overall, it is indeed a good production to be involved in.

Its sucha fun show,but then any show can be its all on how its done.I love the music its cute.and when kwmp did it donw here it had so much dance i loved it...anyway...rent the cd from ur library..its hard to find songs on the computer..i think ull be presntly suprised.lol

I loved the show... it was really fun to be a part of it. The story isn't anythin deep and it's message is obvious, but it's just fun and energetic.

If you have fun with and have a good cast who is able to make it exciting for each other and the audience, it'll be fine.

The score is really awesome and although the storyline isn't that deep, it's still a great show.

That's my opinion

Dude, I just finished a production of this show last week. It is such a great show! The kids who can to see it loved it! And the Adults I think loved it even more! Plus we got great reviews! Trust me, this show is one completly worth doing.

I did this show a few years ago at a community theater. The story is moving and the music is beautiful. It is a great show for character actors and a wonderful show to reconnect with your childhood. It appeals to children because of the many seuss stories weaved into it and the toe-tapping music. For adults the plot is thick with many innuendos into society.

if done well i think it's very aesthetically pleasing. but it is so tedious, and some parts are so unnecesary. some of the songs are great, i.e. "All For You". some of the numbers can be awesome, like monkey around. But I definetely don't think it's a great show, though it has its upsides.

I played Horton a few months ago. It's such a fun show and the revisions made really make it a much better show than the original Broadway production. I was unsure about auditioning as well, as I had never heard of the show before. After hearing "Alone in the Universe" I wanted the part soooo badly! It's the kind of show that can be done really well with a good director and cast.

AMAYZING!!

there's more depth than you 1st notice, and the upbeat-ness of the songs has a GREAT message. This is a FANTASTIC musical.

omg LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I was in it in May (with defyingravity11)! And I have to say, it was absolutely amazing! And I completely agree with him- if you have a great director and cast it will be great! There is just so much energy and life in this show that almost everyone who sees it loves it. And it's so much fun to be in, also. (Go bird girls!!!) :)

I like this show, it has its great moments. But when I saw it, I wasn't like "OMG I absolutely love this show!" I think the music is very repetitive and sometimes boring. But keep in mind I saw this done by a workshop of kids ranging for 10-18. I think it could be very good if you have the right people and director.

My high school did it last year.It's a cute show, definitely. It's not really all that challenging, but i reccomend doing it.

if it's done well, it can be really fun. My school did it and I was Mayzie La Bird. We had a crazy awesome set and costumes. You pretty much have tons of fun doing it, the show by itself isn't that great and It needs a good cast to make it good.

i love seussical ... as u can see, i was mayzie labird in seussical! ... it was so amazing ... u will love it when u get done, but i do warn u ... u won't b able to sleep while u've got those songs stuck in ur head ... & there is no escaping it after its been pounded into u for months! ... but i would do it again if someone would let me!

I knew nothing about the show until we did songs from it for my choir's musical revue, and I must say, the songs are really catchy and cute. Notice Me Horton is such a great song.
