"Was it the stuff that lured hundreds of garage-sale shoppers to a south Olathe home?
Or was it hard-luck actor Willie Aames, who played Tommy Bradford in "Eight is Enough" and later portrayed the costumed hero "Bibleman"?
It had to be Aames, who is trying to move on after a year of negative press reports: bankruptcy, a ruptured marriage and a suicide attempt last Thanksgiving.
Hundreds of people, many with cameras, gathered outside his home Thursday for the two-hour sale of belongings that marked the former child actor's life.
There was a plush leather couch and chair and a giant television. Also, a lion head mounted on an oak pedestal, along with stuffed wild boars and other wildlife he hunted. Other items included crystal and posters of Aames when he was young."

Why didn't he just eBay it?
Some people really need attention.

I wish I had never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever clicked on that link and looked at that photo of Willie Aames as he is today. Afterwards, I glanced over at the corner of my screen and saw Arthur Laurents and thought, "Man, Arthur looks way cuter than Willie Aames."
Lesson to self: "Prioritize levels of curiosity and assess how willing you are to be grossed out prior to reaching them."

And the moral of the story is: animal heads belong on animals and karma is a bitch.
Where's your Bibleman now, huh, Willie?

Good point, Namo. He deserves to look like that.
I suppose that's why you and I are so gorgeous.

Posted: 3/28/09 at 10:04amI keep trying to figure out how he ended up in Olathe, Kansas. I grew up 10 miles from there. Yes, it's in the middle of the Bible belt...but it's certainly not a religious mecca, and folks are not in your face about it. Fred Phelps doesn't count...and besides he lives in Topeka.

He moved to Olathe to get away from the drugs in California, because everyone know there are no drugs in Kansas.
And I hate that they call the mishap of him trying to deep fry his turducken a "suicide attempt".
