St. Clair is actually a really good school - most of the instructors came from instructing at Sheridan (the program is reeeaaaally new - like, MAYBE five years old, which is cool) so the course is very similar. Sheridan does seem to have more focus on the triple threat aspect, however, and tries to make student's singing, dancing and acting abilities equal. It all depends on your focus as a performer.

I'm going to St. Clair this Fall. I saw the school and learned all about the program about two weeks ago, and I'm totally in love. I can't wait! And yeah, I feel your pain in the "finding a school in Canada" thing.

Also, check out George Brown's Soul Pepper program. It's a theater program with "movement" and vocal thrown in - it's basically acting with a little bit of music training. Still, if you're an actor first, look into it.

I'm not a huge fan of Randolph, mostly because of the lack of a degree. It's awesome to be in Toronto, and is a good program, but that aspect of it freaks me out. Also, I'm not a fan of the theater facilities, unless they have been renovated since the last time I saw a show there. Jeff?

nope its still the old one. im not big fan of it either IMO its a good school for dancers preparing to be in the chorus for the rest of ur life but i mean i guess u get back how much u put in so....anythings possible.

there is the bfa out west but who wants to leave the ontario theatre community....aka canada's main theatre employment area.

i second george brown but for a bfa sheridan is the way to go...unless u decide to peace out to america....which is what i recommend

Sheridan is, by far, the best place to study MT in Canada. You only have to look at who is working professionally to see that. :) Its reputation is excellent, in Canada and in the U.S. The fact that a BFA opportunity is now available only increases the positives about Sheridan.

The university program which has produced some of the best, and most employed, actors in Ontario is the Univ. of Windsor. If you're going to be away from the Toronto area to study, this is the only one I'd recommend. Be sure to have a look at the course descriptions to see what you'll get from each school because there can be huge differences.

Just FYI, St. Clair also has a BFA program, but only if you can afford to go to school in Australia for a year (it's associated with Griffith University). I'm still on the fence about doing it.
