Studio apartments in NYC

I want a STUDIO preferrably on the UES. Is there anything else than craigslist.org that I can look at?

My friend managed to get a gorgeous studio on the UES for $1200 a month just by reading the ads in the paper.

The Village Voice is full of ads for apartments, many of which are excellent, although they'll often lead you to brokers. If you don't mind a fee (and you should be prepared to pay one), it's not a problem either way.
The Voice's listings are also online.
