Posted: 12/2/04 at 8:22pmThat happened to me a month ago. I was supposed to sing at a few at/bar mitzvahs and a voice lesson and NYSSMA and I got laryngitis. I got my voice back just in time and I got a 27/28 on NYSSMA. Feel better!

Aww thats some rotten luck Sally
Sadly, I think what your already doing is the best sure for a lost voice. Is your throat dry or more nasty mucous-y? for the later it may help to gargle with warm salt water, but I'm not sure if that will help or not. Every tried throat coat? That stuff rocks. It works wonders... Maybe you should try a test dosage before the events actually start to see if it works for you...
Hope you feel better soon

YES give it a shot... its a MUST for singers... I don't know who invented that stuff but they got me out of some pretty tight situations...
Just be warned though... it can have some side effects. Thats why I think you should test it out before you actually really need your voice
