"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Asexuals?

And I've seen an 'I' sometimes, also (for Intersex, I think.)

I was thinking 'Alliance.'

If I'd have been in NYC, I would have gone. The old adage of "the more things change, the more they stay the same" takes on new life with this. It's bringing back a flood of bad personal memories that began with wearing the wrong shoes in 4th grade, being asked if I had any hair on my c..t in 5th grade (mishearing it, I piped up with a cheery "not yet") and continuing on in various ways, shapes and forms on through high school. Nothing physical, thank God, but still...

I saw one of my tormentors on a local golf course last year and it took a lot of willpower for me not to go clock him on the back of the head with a club. Not the brightest move, I know, but to still harbor that level of ill will 30-plus years later tells you the impact it all had on me way back when.
