Yes, there is another thread on this and it doesn't misuse the yiddish word Shmata, which for the non-yiddish-speaking folk actually means "a rag, either literally or in reference to clothing."

Well Henry Stern calls it the 7000 Shmatas and that made me laugh.
Henry is the parks commissioner.

It's basically a large orange-colored laundry display that's miles and miles long winding through Central Park. Looks like doorframes with orange sheets hanging from them. Over and over. But if other people enjoy it, more power to them. It's only for about 2 weeks.

Went today and walked through a few. Don't really get it. Can't imagine why they spent millions of dollars on it or why it took 26 years to do. Oh well. To each his own.
