In the first 100 hours of their control of Congress on Thursday, Democrats plan to:

* Tighten ethics rules for lawmakers

* Raise the minimum wage

* Allow more research on stem cells

* Cut interest rates on student loans

These measures will be passed without Republican input or the possible obstruction, using the same rules the Republicans created while they were in power.

It's GOOD to be king!

Not even 100 hours and already we have Lie #1 of the Democrats: We will restore bipartisanship and openness.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

How many till we catch up the 12 years of Republican lies?

And weren't the Republicans the ones who tossed aside 200 years of bipartisanship?

"And weren't the Republicans the ones who tossed aside 200 years of bipartisanship?"

The Dems are at such a loss for ideas that they have to copy the mistakes of the Republicans?

The Democrats are not at a loss at all for ideas. Or didn't you read the initial post?

* Tighten ethics rules for lawmakers

* Raise the minimum wage

* Allow more research on stem cells

* Cut interest rates on student loans

I think those ideas are just dandy, don't you?

"Tighten ethics rules for lawmakers" Paper Tiger

"Raise the minimum wage" Not an economically sound idea

"Allow more research on stem cells" More government money wasted

"Cut interest rates on student loans" Looks good on paper, but these things have a way of coming back to bite taxpayers in the *ss.

Pelosi, Hoyer, and Murtha can't get the troops home from the civil war in the first one hundred hours???

Well, what the hell did we elect them to do?

If Tom DeLay is The Hammer, then I proclaim a new title for the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi: The Briber. Nancy Pelosi had to bribe her members with spinach to get their votes.

"Raise the minimum wage" Not an economically sound idea
Yes it is, for anyone who read more than the highlighed passages in chapter 1 of their Economics 101 text book.
Supply and demand is not the end-all, be-all of economic policy.

"Cut interest rates on student loans" Looks good on paper, but these things have a way of coming back to bite taxpayers in the *ss.
Right. Investing in the future via education is a horrible idea.
