As most of you know I've been looking forward to this one for a few months now and after going this morning, I can say I was actually quite pleased with it. It's not necessarily a "horror" movie, though which is what I was expecting. It straddles what I think is a fine line between horror and suspense but it works very well for it in the end. Of course there's the predictable scares and things jumping out at you but all in all, I'd certainly recommend it to fans of the genre.

Anyone else go yet?

I saw it on Friday and I absolutely loved it. It took the tired format of the zombie movie and created something new with it since the "Crazies" aren't really zombies but in a way they are. I agree with Jordan that it wasn't "horror" but it was still very effective in what it was trying to do.

If it's what I'm thinking it is, it looks creepy as hell!

Oh, and I loved the ending. It's one of those that make you go, "Oh crap!"

I was going to see this last weekend but opted for Shutter Island instead. I'll be checking out them Crazies later this week tho, the dude playing the cop is purdy!

Saw it on dvd last night.

I have to say that it was the rare remake that improved on the original. And this is from a Romero fan.

The choice to cut out the military characters and focus soley on the Timothy Olyphant character was very astute.

Btw, the guy who plays Russell (the deputy) has a heavy English accent in real life. When I heard him on the extras I couldn't believe it.
