Gov. Jeb Bush said Thursday he might ask a state attorney to investigate allegations that Terri Schiavo's husband waited more than an hour to call 911 after her 1990 collapse. Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, have previously said their son-in-law waited more than an hour to make the call. An autopsy report released Wednesday didn't address the allegation. 'There's some doubt about when she did collapse and how long it took . . . for the 911 call to be made,' Bush said. 'Which I think is worthy of some investigation. I don't know what form it would take.' Bush said he might ask Bernie McCabe, state attorney for Pinellas-Pasco, to look into the issue, but that would have to wait until McCabe returned from vacation. Bush said the medical examiner shouldn't determine if there was a gap. 'This is really out of his realm,' Bush added. 'It's not a medical examiner's job to determine why there would be a gap if there was one.'

Why are they doing this? How long ago did she collapse? Why didn't they question this ALL THOSE YEARS AGO?!

This is just another Bush wasting the taxpayers time and money on something that is so inconsiquential right now.

her parents need to stop what they're doing.
I don't agree with some of the events surrounding and leading up to her death, but to drag it out like this is disgusting. it's like they don't even care that their daughter died, as long as they can keep getting their name in the paper.

At some point you can't blame grief for the despicable actions of the parents. They should be ashamed of themselves and should be held accountable for their very public and defamatory statements.

As for Jeb Bush, apparently he hasn't learned anything following his last attempts to impose his will in the Shiavo case. I hope the Florida voters don't forget this when and if he goes for reelection.

Has anyone heard Frist's comments regarding his diagnosis of Schiavo as not being in a vegetative state? He said, and I quote:
"I never made the diagnosis. I wouldn't even attempt to make a diagnosis based on a videotape."
Of course, there's the unfortunate matter of the transcripts of statements that he made in March in which he said, and I quote again:
"(Her brother) said that she responds to him. That is not somebody in persistent vegetative state...There just seems to be insufficient information to conclude that Terri Sciavo is (in a) persistent vegetative state."

IN all fairness, it probably was dehydration, since it takes much longer to starve to death than it does to die from dehydration.... not that I agree with her parents one bit, I just had to add that in.

I can't believe that they would make all these false alligations against the husband, and then make up new things after her death.

They only reason they are reporting that she died of dehydration rather than starvation is because there is no pain or discomfort associated with a dehydration death according to nonbiased medical experts. Not that this matters in this case as she was brain dead as we all now know officially and was not feeling any effects of the removal of her feeding tube. Also because the parents and siblings and supports were all screaming about how she was being starved to death.
