THE FORSYTE SAGA - a repeat viewing of the BBC 1970s series starring Kenneth Moore, Susan Hampshire, in glorious black and white.
LITTLE BRITAIN, series 2 - hooked into this mad show by a friend, who is the only gay in his village.
Up next: repeat viewing of BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS, film by Stephen Fry, starring Stephen Campbell Moore, Emily Mortimer. Based on the novel VILE BODIES by Evelyn Waugh.
"This foolish portrait of a fast, furious and decadent era not unlike our own follows the exploits of young aristocrats whom the tabloid press follow slavishly and refer to as 'bright young things.'"

Fleur Forsyte Mont just had her baby--a boy, the 11th Baronet--and she was hosting an American visitor to London, the brother of the wife of her first love, and third cousin, Jon Forsyte. She is about to be sued for libel and slander by one of her cocktail party guests, Margerie, who called Fluer a snob and lion-hunter in Fluer's own home. This was overheard by Fluer's father, Soames Forsyte, who confronted Margerie and when she denied saying any such thing, Soames called her a liar in front of all the guests and turned her out of the house, much to the shock and dismay of Fleur and her husband Michael. This was overheard and witnessed by the American guest, who became smitten with Margerie, and who has now cancelled his plans to travel on to Paris, Florence and Rome, to stay in London to see Margerie. Margerie sees this as an opportunity to muzzle any truth he would add to the Forsyte's defense.

I watched the original run of THE FORSYTE SAGA series back in nineteen ought nought.
It was compulsive viewing, and when Eric Portman's character Soames, raped Nyree Dawn Porter's character Irene, a collective gasp went up over this country that was heard as far away as the moon, or so I'm given to understand

It's a good thing that Eric Porter and Nyree Dawn Porter were married in real life.

I haven't watched anything on DVD yet this week but the next thing coming from netflix is Pi.
I watched both FLOWER DRUM SONG and SOUTH PACIFIC. FLOWER DRUM SONG is a joy, from beginning to end. I love it. SOUTH PACIFIC is horribly directed and its cinematography is ruined throughout much of the film. Still, it manages to entertain, due mostly to the superb score and the incredible orchestrations. I watched the "roadshow" version, which reinstates a lot of Luther Billis' material, cut from the general release version. It's better than the general release version we've been seeing all these years, imo; and, this version, in every possible way, is superior to the Glenn Close remake.
To Catch a Thief.
I just finished watching "King Arthur." The next ones this week are "Clerks II" and "Superman Returns"
