For my graduation, my cousin and her husband gave me a 100$ ticketmaster gift certificate for any show.
It is valid anytime but it does have rules on the back.
I understand all of them except this one:
"Only redeemable at participating Ticketmaster in-store outlets (not redeemable via telephone, internet or box office)."
I looked on the ticketmaster website and it showed ticket-master in store outlets. One is in a mall not far from me at FYE (music store).
I can go there and check it out further, or I guess I can call ticketmaster tomorrow but, for now- does anyone have any idea what exactly that means? Since when do you go to a store (ie: music store) to redeem a ticketmaster gift certificate? Other stores they are redeemable at are: Albertsons (grocery store), Kaufmann's, Filene's...etc..
I'd call my cousin but she went to Italy.
Thanks all!

So you're saying that if I went into FYE (or another on the list) and gave them my gift certificate, they could sell me a ticket to a Broadway show?
Maybe I'm out of the loop but I've never heard such a thing.

Ok- thanks guys!
I just feel it'd be easier to call ticketmaster and order them but whatever...
I never got a gift certificate like this so I think it's pretty cool!
I think I'm gonna use it to get a Drowsy Chaperone ticket when I come home from college in August.

Posted: 5/7/06 at 11:34amGood luck. I have $150 worth of Ticketmaster gift certificates and Broadway shows always show up as "not available at this time" at the Ticketmaster outlets. I've tried DROWSY, TARZAN, HAIRSPRAY, and ODD COUPLE several times each and they're never available there. I called Ticketmaster to see what the deal is and they said that the producers make decisions to not sell certain shows at the outlets, but only online and by phone, methods by which you cannot redeem the gift certificates. So it's a real pain in the a$$. Ticketmaster has never had their act together with Broadway shows the way Telecharge does. Ticketmaster is more about concerts. But hey, let me know if you're able to use them for a Broadway show. I'll keep trying.

Wanna be a Foster- I thought it was a great gift idea- I guess not so much! I mean, she went to trouble to get it for me instead of money so I hate to call it a pain in the a$$ but I guess it really is...haha.
I'll let you know if I can work some magic
I'd really like to see Drowsy when I go up there in August...
I wonder when I should go to FYE to check it out...
I guess the earlier you go the better chance at better seats you have??
