In PAL JOEY, in the song "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered," wealthy matron Vera calls her kept man Joey a "laugh"--but why is that OK with her?
GOOD LUCK, Everybody!!!

WAY TO GO, wildcat!!!
YES, of course our Gal Vera is delrious because although her worthless scum letch Joey is a "laugh"--THE LAUGH IS ON HER.
GET IT?
ON. HER.
BEAUTIFUL, wildcat!!!
CONGRATULATIONS on yet ANOTHER Trivial Pursuit Win!
Now for your bonus points:

Posted: 3/28/05 at 2:40amI have absolutely no idea, so to deflect from my lack of knowledge, let me point out my new avatar...GEORGE TAPPS, who replaced Gene Kelly as PAL JOEY on Broadway when Mr. Kelly left the show to pursue Hollywood stardom!

CORRECT AGAIN, wildcat!
YES, the film version of PAL JOEY made MANY changes to the stage version--including a shift of locale from Chicago to San Francisco.
NICE JOB, wildcat!!!
And your prize?
Well, tomorrow night a wealthy woman is coming into the nightclub that you own! She'll try to give you the "brush"; but you're gonna move right in anyway!!! But be careful--I hear this dame plays HARDBALL like you WOULD NOT believe!

"Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered":
After one whole quart of brandy
Like a daisy I awake
With no Bromo Seltzer handy
I don't even shake
Men are not a new sensation;
I've done pretty well I think.
But this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink
I'm wild again
Beguilded again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
Couldn't sleep
And wouldn't sleep
Until I could sleep where I shouldn't sleep
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
Lost my heart but what of it?
My mistake I agree
He's a laugh, but I love it
Because the laugh's on me!
A pill he is
But still he is
All mine and I'll keep him until he is
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered
Like me
Seen a lot
I mean I lot
But now I'm like sweet seventeen a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
I'll sing to him
Each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I
When he talks he is seeking
Words to get off his chest
Horizontally speaking
He's at his very best
Vexed again
Perplexed again
Thank God I can't be oversexed again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I!
