Urgent Request - AIDS funding in jeopardy / Funding Approved!!!

Just got this message from Lifelong. Figured I'd pass it along here:

Ryan White CARE Act is in danger of not being reauthorized
Take action now to ensure the health of people living with HIV/AIDS is not put in jeopardy

The Ryan White CARE Act, the primary source of HIV/AIDS funding in the United States, must be reauthorized by the U.S. House of Representatives today or it will not pass this session. This bill ensures that people living with HIV/AIDS across the country will continue to have access to treatment and care. If the bill fails, there is no guarantee that it will be reauthorized quickly in the next Congress, putting hundreds of thousands of people in jeopardy.

Please help us encourage the House of Representatives to pass the reauthorization today before the session ends. Your help is urgently needed!

Please call the U.S. House leadership immediately! They need to hear from you!

oh good. I'm glad you did indeed get it today. You never know sometimes. I always feel like we find out about it just a second too late to make a phone call.

Also, FYI on this. Don't be so quick to say yes to this...many democrats voted against this bill because it authorizes what will probably amount to a decrease in AIDS funding for states like NY.
