I am NOT talking about Verizon cellphone service. I am talking about Verizon home phone service. They suck. I have spent a total of three hours this week holding on the phone 6 different times for telephone repair.
Interestingly enough all the trouble started when I cancelled DSL with them......they truly suck.
Cellphonewise, I agree they are the best.

I'm sorry, Elphaba.
I had a friend that was just complaining about them last week. She called and specifically told them she did NOT want service and they still sent a guy out to set it up and charged her for it!
I don't understand why they can be such a good cellphone company but terrible with other phones!

Exhibit A why I no longer have a land line.

Posted: 10/22/05 at 1:40pmI used to work there. Land line (home) service is mainly controled by union workers, who pretty much do as they please. I am not saying all union employees are bad, but it is a different mindset. Cell phone is non-union, and therefore more competitive.

My parents have Verizon phone service as well as DSL. It's freakin' ridiculous how bad they both are when used together. Even though they have two separate lines going into the house, there's still a clicking when you're on the phone when someone is getting online, then the sound gets bad on the phone. And when you're online, it takes twice as long for everything to load if someone is on the phone, then goes back up to lightning speed as soon as they hang up.
My parents have had people come out to their house multiple times to try and fix it, but they claim there's nothing they can do.

I had DSL with them for four years...and each year got progressively worse. As I modem into work, I need a service that is reliable. Since Sp 1 I noticed I was getting kicked offline between 10-15 times a day.
Since I changed to cable 2 weeks ago, I have not been kicked off once
