Alright, this summer I'm heading off to NY State to Long Lake Theater Camp, and I cant wait. But, the 2 big shows their doing are Urinetown and A Chorus Line.

Now, I love both the shows, but I mean, its freakin Chorus Line!

Only problem is I have done, like, no dancing what so ever, but from what I've seen from the camp not alot of other ppl have. But I still can't decide...should I go with Urinetown, which would be a pretty safe bet, or go ahead at put it all out on my sleeves and try for Chorus Line?

Thanks in advance :)

Urinetown.

it's a better show. plus, Chorus Line has lots of dancing. and lots of time you won't be doing anything.

but i'm partial.

i hate dancing re: Which to do?

A Chorus Line is by far the better show, yet if you have no dance training than it doesn't seem like a strong choice. Audition for Urinetown.

As partial as I am to Chorus Line, I would say for your situation to go for Urinetown.

See if you can have your cake...etc...

Go for Urinetown and then if you have time, ask the director and musical director if you can sweeten the onstage Chorus Line chorus vocals from the wings.

Specifically "Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen, Hello Love" and "One" which uses this technique in most productions, but also the opening and perhaps even "What I Did For Love". There you go--one more credit and no dancing!

What do you think all those people who got cut in the first 10 minutes did for the next two hours?

You know, that's a really good idea...

But also I emailed the camp and asked them cause I have a friend who was in a production of Chorus Line, and they had apparently very simple dancing for most ppl and brought in some, I don't know what to call them but I guess, subs, to dance while they sang...and anyways I'm spose to call him back tommorow and maybe he'll have some good news re: Which to do?

To contradict everyone, I'd say go with chorus line. It's a camp right, and the point of going to a theatre camp is to learn and improve yourself as an actor. Since your dance isn't strong, I'd try out for Chorus Line in hopes that they'll help you become a better dancer. But I'd also audition for Urinetown for the insurance.
