When I was growing up, they would at least once or twice a year put on--through the sadly obliterated "American Playhouse"--a filmed or live version of a play or musical. Now, occasionally, they'll show a concert version of something, but nuthin really special. No "Sunday In The Park With George" or "House of Blue Leaves" or "Hamlet", "Grapes Of Wrath", "Mahabarata", or "Painting Churches"....everytime I look on the Broadway Theatre Archive to see if they get anything new (they never do), I get really sad. Why has PBS become so square?

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
