I don't understand what they think he brings to the plate? He is only known for Jersey Boys. RIGHT? What am I missing?


I am not saying this to be rude. But I am just wondering what the qualifications are? The leader of the local high school thespian club has more credits.

They did not mention in his brief bio that he also an acclaimed conceptual pop artist whose works have been displayed in galleries and museums.

Did you see who else is on the committee?

There's a publicist named Janet Keller who has absolutely nothing to do with the arts at all. She works with candidates on political campaigns.

And there's a lawyer from Florida. Again, nothing whatsoever to do with the arts.

So, using that bizarre curve, John Lloyd Young is overqualified for this appointment.

It's the Committee on the Arts and Humanities. It's mostly philanthropic in nature. I imagine the Committee members are chosen for their expertise in all areas of fundraising as well as program formation, administration and implementation. I don't know the specific requirements to be chosen for this specific committee, but it would be foolish to pass up someone who had a strong reputation and years of expertise in any part of the programs, whether artistic, legal, development, marketing, PR, business, not-for-profit administration and various other components of the programs.
