Now if SHE could have a career...then there's hope for me, also!
I LOVE HER. At the end of Downtown when it sounds like she forgets the lyrics - priceless! and the way she's always just a little behind the beat - wonderful!

Let us not forget these women are all following in the footsteps of that glorious tragedy, la diva herself, Florence Foster Jenkins.
Her CD is available too...priceless!

Posted: 3/30/05 at 9:29pmUnfortunately, Mrs. Miller is no longer of this earth. She was all the rage in the 60's, however.

Posted: 3/31/05 at 12:23amI have been avoiding this thread because I knew that all of you would be making fun of her. But "Mrs. Miller" was my grandmother. She had a wonderful spirit and genuine passion to perform. Did people make fun of her? Yes. Did she care? Not a bit. She made people happy however they chose to take her. An interesting side note: She hated the "City" so Downtown was totally tongue-in-cheek and her tombstone has the lyrics to Dear Heart engraved on it.
