Posted: 1/26/04 at 5:41pmI was the opposite. I liked the hair, hated the dress. The dress was something like a late-twenties design, but that huge scoop in front with the paler-than-skin panel made her look close to death. The hair was a Directoire Empire style and would have looked better with a high-waisted flowing gown of the period which had a brief revisal in the early 1900s and the 60s. Sharon Stone looked surprisingly sane. What was Depp wearing? His eccentric look appeared so staged (look at how eccentric I am!) and Pacino's mafia-porn ponytail was hideous. There really weren't as many silly costumes as usual. I was looking forward to another Lara Flynn Boyle ballerina outfit. She looked like she escaped from an asylum last year.

I thought Marg Helgenberger, or whatever her name is, looked outstanding in that slinky, but tasteful, bright red dress. Mary Louise Parker, was stunning, too, in a very low-cut dress that frankly took a lot of guts to wear considering she gave birth two and a half weeks ago. Not a look I would usually like, but she pulled it off and looked terrific.
Al P. is not aging gracefully, and reminded me...a lot...of Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan, now, that is. And yes, I also thought Johnny Depp was a little over the top with the hat. It just didn't work and he looked like he was trying too hard.

I liked Carson from Queer Eye. His pink tux rocked! Just kidding...
I really liked Charlize Theron's dress. It was very pretty. Scarlett Johansson's hair was so beautiful! Queen Latifah and Jennifer Gardner both had really awesome dresses. I didn't like Gwen Stafani's outfit at all.
Sorry if I spelled some names wrong.

Posted: 1/26/04 at 6:50pmNicole Kidman and Renee were the best dressed, in my opinion. Charlize Theron looked gorgeous as well. And another thing. Someone needs to tell Catherine Zeta-Jones that they do make dresses in other colors than black. She looks great in that color, but she always wears black to these things.

Posted: 1/26/04 at 8:21pmI didn't like Kidman's dress, liked Theron's a lot. I thought Depp's hat wasn't the problem but the glasses were ugly. Updated On: 1/27/04 at 08:21 PM

I thought Theron looked about as good as a human being can look. I also thought Renee looked wonderful.
As for Depp, that's pretty much what he always wears which I suppose is either part of his pre-fabricated, put on image or just the way dresses, depending on how one wants to decide Depp is as a person.
Zeta Jones did wear a HOT dark red dress to the Oscars three or four years ago, I think when she was doing that dreadful movie with Sean Connery.

Renee looks great in her Bridget Jones' form. She looks so much prettier as is than she has in the last few years. Although I loved her performance in 'Chicago,' I found myself cringing at her sunken in shoulders and weird bicep muscles.
And as for Catherine, yes, she has worn some color in the past to events. But very few at that. Especially last year during the 'Chicago' hype, she never wore anything other than black. Except when she wore a purple dress to the SAG Awards.

I liked:
Kristin Davis
Diane Lane
Charlize Theron
Amber Tamblyn
Queen Latifah
I would have liked Nicole's hair, but it's just too blond now...she looks washed out...what happened to the red?
Scarlett Johanssen looked like she was having fun and it's great that she's doing so well even though she's so young, but her dress was weird...too tight on top and it made her head look big.
Tom Cruise has never looked better.
I want to hug Elijah Wood.
Pierce Brosnan...gah, he's so beautiful.

Posted: 1/26/04 at 11:26pmPJ....Most people feel that the color of black makes people look skinnier...and since Catherine was pregnant last year at the globes and oscars, then they may have been why she wore the color! I will agree though, she does wear the color quite often, but she always looks damn good in whatever she wears!!!!!

Alison Janney looked unbelievably beautiful. And Jorja Fox from CSI looked lovely as well. Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Kim Cattrall, all looked gorgeous.
Scarlett Johanssen's stylist should be shot. She is not Hollywood skinny (and hooray for that) so why put her in a dress with a corset that pushed everything up to her cleavage? Worst look of the night was undoubtedly Nicole Kidman.

I know black is slimming, but she at times seemed to be going for the Morticia Addams look just a few too many times with the black gowns. Her Oscar dress was great and displayed her ample pre-birth cleavage.
As I said before, I loved Nicole's dress for some reason. I liked Uma Thurman's purple satin gown, but I didn't like the ruffles that much. Charlize, Renee, and Nicole were my best dressed picks. And I thought J.Lo looked bad Sunday nite.
