i have a competition coming up and i'm having trouble finding a belting song.
i like astonishing from little women but more suggestions would be helpful.
last year i sang once upon a time from brooklyn and i won (it's that type of belting song with a huge climax that i want :))
i'm a 16 year old coloratura soprano who can belt to a high A.

Listen to the original 1962 cast recording of Little Me with a score by Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh. Its a much better interpretation than the comparatively recent revival.
There is a song, "The Other Side of The Tracks", that has a reprise as well. The first time the song is a ballad that could probably show your soprano off very nicely, and then the reprise is a driving uptempo that could probably have interpolated head notes thrown in.
The two versions together last less than 4 minutes.
Pay extra attention to the lyrics. They are very good and you don't want to lose them for the sake of those head tones.

sorry to bump the thread up again but i haven't found a perfect song yet.. i really liked 'disneyland' but i thought the word disneyland was too repetitive..
i'm looking for something not that uptempo and not overdone.
sorry for bumping this up again! i just really need help (and i have done my own research and haven't really found anything i liked so i hoped that maybe you guys can offer some help/advice)
I'm a star by scott alan, you can buy the sheet music on his website and there are a bunch of videos of it on "that site"
