this movie was shown at the aspen film festival like a year and a half ago - when the hell is it coming out? i am sick and tired of waiting.

apparently, it's been shelved for a VERY petty reason although they're contractually obligated to release it in some form (even direct to dvd) soon, I do believe.

But it's sort of along the lines of Proof being shelved, I think.

Supposedly it was something Paltrow said about the Weinsteins or some disagreement they had.
Then, when they were ousted from Miramax, they were contractually obligated to clear the vaults and so out came Proof.
I think Sony Pictures is the big, bad, baddie in this particular fight.

Wow, I didn't even know that about Proof. I thought it had been released and had done so poorly that it disappeared. Thanks for clearing that up.

Nope. Proof was all set for a Dec 25th release last year when it mysteriously vanished from schedules. The official reason given was they wanted it in the Cannes Film Festival this year but it was more along the lines of the Weinsteins being pure evil and Gwyneth falling foul of them.
