Since the night before Thanksgiving is considered to be the biggest drinking night of the year, just wondering if anyone had any thanksgiving eve traditions? My friends and I go to a local bar and get drunk off of 'turkey bombs'....a shot of wild turkey dumped into a beer and then chugged....sometimes after a few of those I start to think we need a new tradition....

Nah, I don't think we have traditions for Thanksgiving Eve. I'm going to my mom's rehearsal, which I dread.
But, alas, tomorrow will come.
And in less than 24 hours, I will see RENT! Huzzah!
er, actually....New Years Eve I think beats Thanksgiving in that department...
Oh I agree about new years being a bigger party night....but supposedly thanksgiving eve is....why, I don't know lol....but that's all I heard at work today haha
Watching TV, copying tapes to DVD & getting ready to sleep late tomorrow. My mother in law , for some reason, wants Chinese tomorrow so no turkey for me. I do miss those big old dinners from years past when the whole family was gathered around a table. Before & after the game we watched football & for ( it seemed a million years afterwards ) we had turkey everything . So much so that I did not want to see another turkey until next thanksgiving
Happy Turkey day to all. I envy you
I wanted to go see Rent, but all of these posts now makes me want to gouge out my eyes....
I'm in the suburbs for the weekend (live in NYC) so thank God for BWW and parents that drink martinis (and keep vodka well-stocked). I don't know how else to stave off the sheer boredom!
I'm out on Long Island at my parents house. Having a glass of red wine and enjoying the abundance of food downstairs.
I'll be up tomorrow at 8:50 as I am every year, with just enough time to get ready for the parade.
hah. I'm here for the night. I'm still at school, because I'm travelling tomorrow. I'm meeting my family at my relatives' house out-of-town tomorrow afternoon, so it was easier just to stay on campus. I'm bored and lonely, though. Nobody's here!
Twas the night before T-day
And all through this board
Theatre queens were typing
Trying to be a little less bored.
Britney is ready to star as Charity
While Cheno is hawking scarves and khaki's
Rent is in theatres
As many of you know.
Will this help Broadway?
Maybe next week we'll all know.
With my laptop besides me
And the sound of click clack
My stomach is grumbling
So time for a snack.
Up from my bed
I'm gonna be away
I wish you all
A Happy Thanksgiving Day
actually I'm listening to the OBCR of RENT
Oh - my usual Thanksgiving eve. I'm preparing as much food as I possibly can prepare the night before. The turkey is in the fridge - being brined. The dressing ingredients have all been chopped, toasted, whatever. I have blanched the squash, which still needs to be peeled and cut up. Also the cranberry salad needs to be made tonight.
Tomorrow, as always, everybody will enjoy the meal and I'll fall asleep at the table.
....and since WHEN has Thanksgiving eve become the biggest drinking night of the year and why in the ... haven't I heard about this before now?

Im having a movie fest. Someone sent me 8 DVDs yesterday -- no idea where they came from -- so I've been watching them. Last night I watched Hitch, earlier tonight I watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman and I think I'm gonna go upstairs in a few and watch MP and the Holy Grail.
Tomorrow most of my family arrives.... and the insanity begins.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
I think the insanity may have begun when you agreed to watch HITCH. :)
does anyone like my poem above?

Awwwwe I really liked Hitch. I thought it was a very cute movie. Then again, I'm pretty much an absolutely hopeless romantic.

Normally I have to perform in America's Thanksgving Day Parade which means getting up at around 4 in the morning, meaning I would be sleeping now. But due to the fact that we weren't able to perform this year, I am sitting in front this damn computer doing nothing of imporatance.
It's a lovely poem, Apollo. You're very talented. Perhaps not deeply and importantly talented, but amusingly and superficially talented.
Just got home from seeing the tour of Evita. It wasn't as bad as I'd heard. I thought the the leads were solid. But what a boring show. Does anyone outside of Argentina giving a flying f*ck about Eva Peron?
In the morning, I'm heading over to my parents' house for the day. I'm taking my mom to see RENT at 1:00 while the turkey's in the oven.
mmmm...I just finished baking a Cherry Pie for dinner tomorrow.
(insert inappropriate cherry jokes here)
Now I'm enjoying the baking smell, candlelight, and I'm about to pop in Death Takes a Holiday.

It was my birthday, and I just got home from an Aerosmith concert- only my favorite band ever. Happy day indeed!
