Add this one to the list of flubs on cast albums.
At the 2:58 mark (noted the time on my iPod) in "Lizzie's Comin' Home," it's very noticible that, as the 2 brothers sing "got to get hoppin'," John Cullum begins to say "Liz--" before realizing the mistake.
Figured someone would catch onto that.
The only reason I know that: for some reason, that song always pops up first in my shuffle.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 8:13pmIts a pretty weird song, as far as the lyrics. One line Cullum says "when Lizzie comes home... I think about her mom"- (in a very sad tone)-- by the very next line, everything is happy again... It just seems strange to me.

Well, during "Raunchy," when Audra does that spoken section, she says, "Hi, I'm LILY ANN." That's my favorite.
The CD is BEYOND worth it though.

The Lily Ann line refers to Lizzie's father and brothers telling her to "get a man" she needs to "get a man how a man gets got" like Lily Ann Beasley (the town flirt). And "Raunchy" follows a conversation between Lizzie and HC where she says she wants to get out of herself and he says to be Lily Ann for a little while. So it's intentional.
The CD is awesome! The only song I don't really like is "Little Red Hat". I love it in the show, but it's a definite song that benefits from the staging. To me, it's just dull on the CD. But everything else is AWESOME!

Posted: 6/9/07 at 11:52amLOL. I actually heard the guy across the aisle from me last night say "Oh cool! I didn't know Halle Berry was in this!" followed by one of the girls he was with say "Oh. It's some girl named Audra McDonald." when she read the playbill.

Posted: 6/9/07 at 12:04pmI saw it on Wednesday. Audra was beyond incredible, and I must say that the second act is a lot stronger than the first.

Testing ~ I didn't hear that one. Of course, I could have missed it from trying not to laugh at the Halle Berry thing. :)
My favorite from the last time I saw it (before last night) was "This must be a good show. There's a lot of people here!"

Lady next to me last night was swearing up and down that she saw "Company" there... until someone convinced her that it was
"Cabaret".
