My predictions:
BILLY ELLIOT: either "Shine" or "We Were Born to Boogie"
HAIR: "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In"
WHITE CHRISTMAS: Anything.
RAGTIME: "Wheels of a Dream"
SHREK: "Freak Flag"
Will Shrek even bother to perform since they're closing a month and a half later? I mean, I guess they may want to boost ticket sales for the end of their run. We'll see.
Part of me wonders if they will even have "Hair" perform since they had the Central Park cast perform last year.
I'd like to see Ragtime do the title number.

I'm surprised Birdie isn't performing, really surprised actually.
This isn't a list of what IS performing, only predictions of what we think might.
Or at least thats what I thought.
I assume 'Birdie' will perform. Something like The Telephone Hour or Honestly Sincere. Basically something that doesn't involve Stamos or Gershon.

Heh, silly me.
In that case...
Bye Bye Birdie
White Christmas
Billy Elliot
And possibly: West Side Story, Next to Normal, or Memphis.

I don't really see Next to Normal performing. It doesn't really have that show-stopper, crowd-pleasing production number that is most typically seen at the parade.
Predictions - not announcements.
BIRDIE I totally forgot about. They'll do "Telephone Hour" for recognition or "Put on a Happy Face" to feature Stamos.
I can almost guarentee West Side will be doing America.
Of course West Side will do America. When do they not do America. Don't get me wrong, I love Karen Olivo, but try something else. I would be shocked if Birdie doesn't perform as well.
A Little Night Music :-p
I'd be pleasantly surprised if Rock of ages were to put something on. It's got a parade showstopper under its sleeve, plus everyone knows the songs.
=P
The four shows performing are Billy Elliot, Bye Bye Birdie, Hair and Shrek.
Quick question for you guys:
This will be my first Thanksgiving and New York, and I was wondering where the performances take place, and about how early you would need to get there to have a spot nearby?
The performances happen in front of Macy's on 34th street I think...and it is pretty much impossible to get a spot over there. I'm pretty sure most of the people who wind up there know someone who works for Macy's. You pretty much have to stand there for hours to get any type of decent spot...honestly I would just recommend watching it on TV.

I usually just watch the performances on youtube, but this website: http://www.nyctourist.com/macys_news_lineup.htm says
"On the NBC and Telemundo Telecasts
The Radio City Rockettes
Broadway’s: Bombay Dreams; All Shook Up; and La Cage Aux Folles

Sucks for all those shows that are actually running that could have used that exposure, as opposed to trotting out a bunch of performances to things nobody could actually buy a ticket for.
I'm also going to agree with perfectlymarvelous. It is damn near impossible to get a spot at Harold Square, where the performances are held. Stay home and watch them on TV in the comfort of your own home, unless you want to see some of the ugliest, rudest behavior out there. The parade (along with New Year's Eve in Times Square) brings it out as people push and fight to get what they think are the best spots along the route.

Oops, I just saw La Cage on the list and said "oh, yeah, there's supposed to be a revival this season; I didn't know that it was coming this soon" and ignored the other two shows.

Is AEA joking? That's OBVIOUSLY an old list.

Someone here said that New Years is the best night to see the worst Off-Broadway play, The Perfect Crime. It would spit you out a perfect spot to watch the ball drop.

Is that a guess or are you certain? I think the performances will be Billy Elliot, Bye Bye Birdie, West Side Story, and White Christmas. The Central Park cast of Hair performed Last year.
I would LOVE to see Billy Elliot do Shine

Yes, Piragua, that was sarcasm to a previous poster who had clearly cut and pasted from a google search without actually reading what they were posting. I'm well aware that shows that have been closed for several years are not going to be given performance slots at this year's parade.
