So this summer we have a chance to see either show, but one's in San Francisco and WICKED is touring in San Diego. I want to see A CHORUS LINE, but Ivan wants to see WICKED. We can only see one. (We'll probably end up seeing WICKED, since it's closer, and Ivan doesn't want to go to San Francisco anytime soon.)
If you were put in this spot, what would y'all do?
I live outside of SF so I am defidently going to see that. ALSO I'm going down to Costa Mesa to go see Wicked. Is Kemdra still the touring Glinda?? and Stephanie?
A Chorus Line, trust me on this one!!
I would see a chorus line. I like that one more anyways and I have waited forever for a revival.
I would personally go for A Chorus Line, but I wouldn't be heartbroken about seeing Wicked.
Hands down!! A Chorus Line. Easy choice.
A Chorus Line
or wait to see the revival on Broadway and go for Wicked

A Chrous Line.
First vote for Wicked...as long as you haven't seen it. A Chorus Line will probably be back on tour.
Wicked- who knows how Chorus Line will turn out?
A Chorus Line, no doubt. A Broadway try-out is way better than a touring production.

A Chorus Line is arguably the best American musical ever. Catch this revival. It is never to be missed.

Chorus Line! But Ivan seems to think you guys are seeing Hairspray and Wicked...... so what happened with our us 3 seeing Chorus Line together huh??? not cool buddy, i cant believe he doesnt wanna go back to SF (i'm there!) haha j/k i kno why he doesnt wanna go, well i guess i'm not too far from San Diego either..... lets chill again....
A CHORUS LINE is the better of the two shows.
One caveat: WICKED is not a well writtten show but gets by because of the specatcle. (It's not an awful show, just uneven.) Once the first class tours finish you won't likely see many "community" or "regional" productions (and if you do without all the elaborate scenic effects it will lose much of its appeal.) So, if you are a fan of the show this might be a rare chance to see it.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Here comes the inevitable catty Wicked comment:
If Wicked were playing in my living room and A Chorus Line were playing on a mine field in Baghdad.
I'd go to Baghdad.
Honestly though, I will very likely drive up to SF to see A Chorus Line and down to Costa Mesa to see Wicked with Murney. (I live in Los Angeles)
hugs Patronus and hands him the cookies for the day!
Yay! I've always wanted the cookies. I feel like I've arrived.
Personally, I don't really like A Chorus Line, but I guess that it's a matter of preference. I will probably see it just for Charlotte d'Ambroise. And isn't Julia Murney going to be the new Elphaba?? Or is that later? Well, Julia is wonderful. So I would go with Wicked.
I'm going to remind you of that quote when you are enjoying the heck out of Wicked this summer!!! :P
I wish you had used it as a cautionary tale when I was loathing the heck out of it last summer.
