..Two and Half Men is cancelled?
I mean unless she got special permission from CBS, I don't think Holland Taylor would be able to extend since taping for another season begins in July.

I am surprised by this... the grosses are not that great.

Yeah, but I doubt, there is a high running cost. I think she just wants the play to be seen by as many people as possible! I admire that!

I don't think she appears regularly on Two and a Half Men anymore. I haven't seen it in years but I believe she just does occasional episodes.

she's been on like 3 episodes this season, she's not a regular any more, 2 & a half men just got renewed yesterday.

And is a powerhouse hit for CBS
Two and a Half Men was one of my favorite shows for years, but then Ashton Kutcher ruined it all.
And they make arrangements all the time. If she truly is only on for 3 episodes, they can film around her schedule -- with her taking minimal time off from the show.

Two and Half Men will never stop. and it's a mess of a show. Holland probably wants nothing to do with it anymore.
She started in the theatre and you can tell how much she loves this play and this woman she is playing. Good for her.
I'm sure Holland's pay check from "2 & 1/2" is very, very large.
Jon Cryer and his wife are producers of "ANN." They'll work around it. Holland probably makes big money on 2.5 Men but ANN is more artistically fulfilling, especially if she ends up getting a Tony nom for it (which could happen).

not to mention Kate Hathaway, Anne Hathaway's mom , is a producer as well.
What does Anne's mom do? And yeah I can't imagine it cost too much to run and it's probably cheaper to have the show running then leave it empty all summer.

Everyone on this board is correct...thank you. I know Holland is only in a small amount of episodes, but it did seem just a bit too long of an absence if she was to tape any episodes at all...two months of her being gone is almost 5-6 episodes of taping...
Anyway, glad that the show will extend.
It's also a cheap show to run, and Holland isn't making a Tom Hanks salary for this. I am sure they are breaking even at the Beaumont right now, even though it's only in the 30% full range. It's just something to fill the venue until LCT can get King and I (or whatever their next big show might be) in there.

The grosses are very similar to other plays that are on Broadway and I imagine it'll likely recoup by September hence the extension.
